Fresh from an East European Balkan Tour, Nazdrove brings to Sheffield, The TRANS-SIBERIAN MARCH BAND!!!! A twelve-strong international brass and wind outfit often described as 'The Sex Pistols of Balkan Brass".
They have a heap of tubas, trumpets, reeds, trombones and sublime percussion and rhythm without a drum kit in sight. Every number is danceable with each song either reaching a groove orientated trance-like state or kicking in the turbo oompah and speeding things up to states of delerium.
TSMB throw you into the flavours of the East, with such pumping styles that include Balkan Ska, Klezmer Reggae, Ottoman Battle Punk, Yugoslav Mariachi, and Balalikal Brass amongst others. And it's not just the sound. The visuals are spectacular. You can’t take your eyes off them. Not just because they are a girl band, where the token men have to conform – it is really pure, burlesque theatre.
TSMB are just back from an East European Balkan Tour, where they took their zany music to such places as Mostar, Sarajevo, Maglaj, Vienna and Budapest. The band also think it' hard to hate your neighbours when you are dancing and are still planning to tour North and South Ossetia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia next year. Don’t miss them. They are a one-off.
Support comes from The Nazdrove Show Band and the Nazdrove DJs spinning discs until 1am.
