Date(s): 19 February 2010

Time: 19:30

Venue: St Mary's Centre, Bramall Lane, Sheffield, S2 4QZ

Dick Gaughan at last returns to Sheffield for a unique concert in the stunning setting of St Mary's Church Nave and North Aisle. Re-charge your batteries and raise your banners. In this climate of crises and recession, Gaughan will enrich you with his masterful live performance. This is a rare opportunity to witness an artist acclaimed the world over for his rare guitar playing skills and sublime voice. Not to be missed. Fully-licenced bar available.

Dick is a Scottish folk artist, whose main distinction as a solo performer are his songs about current and historic social injustice. So he is a link in the chain created by artists like Woodie Guthrie, Ewan McCall etc. He will be playing acoustically, just him and a guitar. Dick has also just been inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame.

"The art of contemporary and traditional song by a singer and guitar player of rare quality and integrity; a totally unique experience, there's nobody remotely like him" - Brunswick Music Festival.

"He has one of the finest and most sublime voices on the planet, capable of capturing the heart with the most tender of traditional ballads in one moment and stirring the fire of the spirit with his uncompromising commentary on social injustice in the next... an unforgettable artist, able to change the way that you think and feel through the power of music" - Appleseed Recordings.
