Album of the week: Tommy T - The Prester John Sessions on Easy Star
Welcome to your latest around the world music adventure. We start with strings, the violin, nyckleharpa and cittern of acoustic trio Bellevue Rendezvous who take us on a trip to St Kilda before we progress onto a dark song of revenge from the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Bringing us out of that mood is our album of the week 'The Prester John Sessions' from Tommy T. Bassist with Gogol Bordello, he leaves the brash rock sounds of the punk ska gypsy band behind him, as he pulls in the gorgeous voice of Gigi on his Ethiopian journey to discover his own roots.
