Megson, The Longshot Tour includes Barnsley date

Nominees in the BBC Folk Awards for two years running, 2009 and 2010, Megson embark on a UK tour to promote their new album The Longshot, described by the Sunday Express as simply brilliant. Dates include Wombwell Madness at Barnsley.

Bright Phoebus presents: Four Hour Festival of Folk Fun

Bright Phoebus presents ... The world class vocals of internationally lauded Chris While and the uncannily similar quality of daughter Kellie, combine for an evening of unforgettable live music. Catch The Hut People at Rivelin Folk Club in Sheffield. They are constantly gaining more of reputation as one of the hottest duos to come out of the Yorkshire folk scene in a long while. Taking the audience on a voyage across the globe with their material, they perform a unique blend of home-grown tunes mixed with British, Nordic and European folk music, constructed & embellished with the driving accordion and a mind boggling array of exotic percussion.

22nd september 2010 :
Jim Moray and Band, Sheffield Date

He's just twenty-three but he's single-handedly turning the English folk music world on its head. And he's not about to stop there. Jim Moray is a massive talent who has taken songs from English traditional music and re-worked them to create some of the most startlingly original, contemporary recordings to come out of the folk world since the 1970s.

7th August 2010 - 27th September 2010 :
Tashi Lhunpo Monks Edinburgh Festival plus UK tour dates

Celebrating the release of their new album, Skeleton Lords the Tashi Lhunpo Monks are returning to the UK with their fabulous costumes and stage set. Appearing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe throughout August and at Deloitte IGNITE Festival, Royal Opera House, London on Sunday 5th September 2010 with other dates in Kendal, Reading, Manchester, Brixham. 29th September 2010:
Mulatu Astatke and the Heliocentrics - One off London date.

The Heliocentrics – the London-based collective centered around drummer Malcolm Catto, bassist Jake Ferguson and producer Mike Burnham – first performed with legendary Ethiopian Jazz composer/arranger/pianist/vibraphonist Mulatu Astatke in early 2008. The pairing went so well – Astatke celebrated the band as the Heliocentrics performed the classic songs Astatke recorded for the Ethiopian Amha label in the late 60s and early 70s – that a collaborative recording session became a must. Thus began the landmark sessions in the Heliocentrics’ cavernous studio that resulted in Mulatu Astatke and The Heliocentrics: Inspiration Information 3.
